As the Parish of Dibden, we are a single church family meeting in two distinct buildings, proudly serving our diverse and vibrant community, nestled between the New Forest and Southampton Water. Located just a stone’s throw from Southampton, we are dedicated to being a visible, loving presence of Christ at the heart of our community.
Rooted in the life-changing grace of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we are a multi-generational congregation dedicated to hearing God’s voice through the Bible and responding with expectant prayer.
Whether you are drawn to the contemporary energy of St Andrew’s or the traditional beauty of All Saints’, you’ll find a hospitable home here as we worship together. We are passionate about making a difference—serving the Waterside and our global mission partners—as we strive to live distinctive, Christ-centred lives that bring hope to the world today.

Midweek Communion – 11am Wed 3rd June

Do join us for our short, reflective midweek communion service next Wednesday. It’s held on the first Wednesday of the month at St Andrew’s and has proved to be a quiet space in the week to gather at the Lord’s table and also remember someone who you have lost or are losing.
“For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.” 1 Corinthians 11 v26

Calshot Baptisms – Join us on 7th June

You’re warmly welcome to join us at Calshot Beach (near Beach Hut 114 by the middle car park) on Sunday 7th June at 4pm to celebrate the baptisms of Maddie, Logan, Alex and Lisa. We’re being joined by St Win’s Church, Totton who will be baptising candidates of their own. Do bring a picnic and make an afternoon of it. If anyone would like to make a cake or bring some extra food to share, there will be a central table provided for such items. And we’ll be doing it all again on 19th July, joined that time by St John’s Church, Hythe. Come and join us to support those getting baptised, pray for them in the lead up to it and for good weather on the day!
‘Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…’ Matthew 28:19

Pentecost: Wear Bright Colours – 24th May

On 24th May, we celebrate Pentecost, the birth of the church when the Holy Spirit descended and Simon Peter shared the first sermon after Jesus’ Ascension. It’s become a lovely tradition at St Andrew’s for people to wear their brightest clothing to celebrate this special occasion.
Acts 2:1 – 4 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Clean and Polish for Rwanda

Thank you to all of the volunteers: young people and adults who cleaned cars all Saturday morning. Pippa and team did a wonderful job. Thank you to church members and the public who brought their cars to be cleaned too. We raised £250 for the mission trip to Rwanda and brightened up the days for many who had conversations with us about Rwanda. It was encouraging to hear their positive comments about the charity work that the church does. Please continue to pray for the adults and young people who will soon be going to Rwanda. We pray that God will bless the trip and work in the hearts of those who go as they have the opportunity to go out on mission and show compassion to and learn from the people of Maranwundo.

Fire Drill

We’d like to make everyone aware, that over the next month (May/June) we’ll be carrying out a practice of the fire drill during a Sunday morning service. This is simply to help us ensure that everyone is familiar with the procedures and that we continue to keep all who attend our church as safe as possible. If the alarm sounds during a service (or whenever you are in St Andrew’s Centre), please make your way out via the most suitable and quickest exit. Sidespeople and Children & Youth leaders will be there to guide you out. The Fire Assembly Point is in the front car park. The Fire Marshall (who will be the leader of the service on a Sunday or Nicky Long during the week) will then permit you to re-enter the building once it is safe to do so.

Churchyard Cleared-Up

A really big thank you to everyone for turning up or praying for the work party last Saturday morning. We were glad that the weather remained dry, was not especially windy and the sun was out for a lot of the morning. There were 17 adults and 1 under 18 for differing sections of the morning. Lots of different jobs were tackled, including for example:
- clearing intrusive weeds in the ‘gutter’ and drains round the outside of the church building
- cutting back incredible amounts of bramble
- clearing ivy from some of the old ‘table’ graves
- removing old Christmas wreaths from graves and memorials
- removing broken glass
- general tidying of the Ashes Memorial Gardens
- emptying the Compost bins
- our lovely regular volunteers who care for the sunken garden, which is either side of the church door, spent the morning tidying, weeding, and planting out young plants
- weeding of the young plants along the new hedge, designed to be wildlife friendly
- burning as much of the waste as we could manage
We are pleased to note the improvement in the new wildlife hedge, the mass of Ox-eye daisies across large areas, and to see some new species – eg Lady’s Smock, also known as Cuckoo Flower, favoured by the Orange-tip Butterfly – beginning to establish in the wilder areas of the churchyard. We are looking forward to hearing the Spring report on the nesting boxes installed around the churchyard. Thank you once again, and be encouraged – your efforts are making a big difference.

Baby Autumn follows Jeremiah’s example at her Christening!

When beautiful baby Autumn’s Christening came around, as the third of three daughters of Melissa and Chris, she was determined to make an impression. And indeed she did – with her teeth on the Bible! Following in the footsteps of the great Old Testament prophet Jeremiah, she proceeded to eat God’s word! As Jeremiah said, ‘When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty.’ In the beautiful setting of All Saints’ Church, Dibden, Peter was pleased to be able to Christen Autumn, having Christened her two older sisters before Covid. Let’s all follow Autumn’s (and Jeremiah’s) example and be those who delight in devouring God’s word to us in the Bible! And as we do so, understand that we bear his name and are loved deeply by God.

Love Your Churchyard Workparty – 16th May

Our first churchyard work party of 2026 is on Saturday 16th May, from 9.00am–12.30pm.
The new season of growth is well underway in our gardens and the forest, and so it is within the beautiful Churchyard of our Parish Church. There are many small tasks that need to be undertaken to maintain the area around the church itself, as well as across the wider area, to ensure the rampant weeds do not damage structures, such as the church and its surrounding old graves. We’d love to see as many as possible for as long or as little time as you can. The work does not have to be arduous, and many hands make light work. Please make a note of the date in your diary/calendar. Thank you for all that you do to support the churchyard, whether by working there, or by praying for this special place.
Refreshments will be available to keep you going, and if you are able to bring some tools with you, that would be great. For more details please contact Alison Alcock: allsaintschurchyard@dibdenchurches.org. -
